OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Powder Coat Technician I who will be responsible for preparing substrates for the powder application process including hanging, washing, plugging, scrubbing, taping, and sanding parts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform oven and wash bay procedures, maintenance, and operations
  • Operate forklift and complete light maintenance
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Supervisor
  • Pack parts for shipping, taking care not to damage parts 
  • Comply with safety regulations
  • Train on an ongoing basis for the powder application process 
  • Retain knowledge from each job
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management or designer
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures 
  • Perform quality inspection/checks per quality documentation/control plan (including documentation of results)
  • Learn and demonstrate continuous improvement for site Safety and Quality standards and procedures 
  • Meet the standards of the site attendance policy
  • Assist in other work areas as assigned 

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years’ experience in related setting may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, memos, and simple instructions
  • Knowledge of basic business math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

  • High School diploma

SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Thursday; 6:00am-4:30pm

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
