Position Summary
 Ultium Cells is looking for a motivated Inspection Specialist to join our Electrode Department. This role is responsible for the stable operation and maintenance of high-speed automated inspection machines (Vision Systems). We welcome both entry-level candidates with a strong technical aptitude and experienced professionals. This position focuses on ensuring product quality through vision system optimization and rapid trouble shooting within a safe, manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Ensure 24/7 operational status of all Inspection machines (Electrode and Cell Inspection).
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical errors on inspection equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Vision System Calibration: Align and calibrate industrial cameras, lighting controllers, and sensors for precise defect detection.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct real-time monitoring of inspection results (Image Analysis) and report findings to the Inspection and Production Team
- Maintenance: Execute routine and preventative maintenance (PM) according to the site schedule
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in activities to optimize defect detection logic and improve overall equipment efficiency.
- Inventory & Documentation: Manage spare parts inventory and maintain accurate digital logs of all maintenance activities
Qualifications & Competencies
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required. (Recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Experience: Entry-level to 3 years. Prior experience in manufacturing or with industrial equipment is a plus but not mandatory.
- Technical Interests: A strong interest or basic knowledge in Vision Systems, Image Analysis, or Mechanical Systems is highly desired.
 Skills
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Proficiency with computers and basic math skills for data tracking.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.

Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a 2-rotation (12-hour shift) schedule.
- Comfort working in a cleanroom environment wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Upon hire, employee will receive initial Environmental training over RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and emergency escalation. Annual refresher training will be completed every year after to fulfill the requirements of 40 CFR. Other training to be provided as required.
