POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this dual purpose position serves as a Financial Analyst for the company and also serves as a Financial Administrator for the Early Education Department.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below:

 

Financial Analyst (60% responsibility / activity / time)

  • Report to and assist the Chief Financial Officer in Financial Analysis & Planning,
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process,
  • Assist / conduct the monthly rolling forecast process with each department,
  • Prepare the weekly cash flow report,
  • Review, analyze, reconcile and report the monthly Salesforce / CRM revenues, payments received and receivables data,
  • Assist in the month end close, year end close, and audit,
  • Assist in any information systems implementation, conversion or upgrade
  • Perform ad hoc requests or tasks pertinent to financial analysis in the company.

 

Financial Administrator (40% responsibility / activity / time)

  • Assist the Senior Director of the Early Education department in financial administration matters,
  • See above Financial Analyst duties but with a special emphasis on Early Education and budgeting (including amendments and final reporting) because of strict reporting and compliance requirements from the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) and other external funding agencies (OEFA),
  • Review, analyze, reconcile and report the monthly general ledger details in order to submit the reimbursement requests to NDE and OEFA,
  • Serve as conduit and facilitator between the Finance department and the Early Education department for most financial and administrative matters unless otherwise instructed by Chief Financial Officer and/or the Senior Director of the Early Education department,
  • Perform ad hoc requests or tasks pertinent to financial administration in the Early Education department.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

Education, Skills, Experience and Training Requirements

  • University graduate in accounting
  • At least 5 years of accounting and/or financial analysis
  • Nonprofit industry working experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, problem solving and Excel skills
  • Professional demeanor is a must
  • Salesforce / CRM experience is preferred
  • QuickBooks Online Advanced experience is a plus

 

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended period based on daily job responsibilities
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds without accommodation.
