Refuah Health is a federally qualified health center offering comprehensive care in Rockland and Sullivan Counties. The certified Midwife will provide comprehensive care, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum care and well-woman gynecology exams. She will practice both, the art as well as the science of midwifery care and take hospital call at a community hospital with a level II nursery and 24-hour in-house OB backup and anesthesia. The midwife will work with a supportive midwifery team and office staff as well as community doulas.

This is a unique opportunity to care for and support women who want low intervention and normal births. Our practice has had a 97% vaginal delivery rate over many years and 2.4% cesarean rate over many years.

Midwife Responsibilities:

• Provide full scope midwifery care in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Able to conduct physical exams, prescribe medications including contraception.
• Order laboratory tests as needed.
• Provide prenatal care, gynecological care, labor and birth care.
• Provide health education and preconception counseling.

Qualifications

What You Bring To Refuah:

• A minimum of two years of certified midwifery experience (including deliveries), providing direct care to women in an inpatient and outpatient setting
• Masters degree from an accredited midwifery education program
• Current AMCB certification and active unrestricted NYS Midwife License
• Active NY DEA Registration
• Must enjoy and be good at providing education in the office and hands-on labor support
• Eligible to Work in the US
