Job DetailsJob Location: Las Vegas Nevada - LAS VEGAS, NV 89139Position Summary The Reefer Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of refrigeration units on specialty vehicles. This role requires fundamental experience in manufacturing, electrical aptitude and the ability to diagnose and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. The technician must have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow technical diagrams and safety protocols. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Install, route, and connect electrical wiring on refrigeration units, ensuring proper circuit configurations. Troubleshoot electrical issues using a multimeter and other diagnostic tool. Apply knowledge of AC and DC electricity to refrigeration installations and repairs. Conduct inspections, testing, and adjustments to ensure units are operating efficiently. Install and maintain plumbing and hydraulic components related to refrigeration systems. Work with regulated refrigerants, monitoring scales, pressures, and other key indicators for system performance. Read and interpret tape measures, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation to ensure accurate installations. Identify and resolve functional issues with refrigeration units through systematic troubleshooting. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including refrigerant usage and system specifications. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including EPA 608 certification requirements if applicable. Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency in manufacturing and troubleshooting tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workspace to ensure a safe working environment. Perform other duties as assigned by management. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Experience in manufacturing or a related technical field. Basic electrical aptitude, including a theoretical understanding of AC and DC electricity. Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical issues using a multimeter. Experience with plumbing and hydraulic systems in an industrial or vehicle setting. HVAC experience, including refrigeration system troubleshooting is highly preferred. Basic computer skills for documentation and troubleshooting purposes. Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, tape measures and wiring schematics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. EPA 608 Certification is a plus. Flexibility to perform various functions within the warehouse as needed. Strong work ethic, reliability and integrity. Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly. Frequent standing, walking, bending and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment in tight spaces. Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights. Exposure to varying temperatures and warehouse conditions. Warehouse and manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and mechanical systems. Occasional exposure to refrigerants, chemicals and other substances related to refrigeration systems. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for safety. Fast-paced, team-oriented environment requiring adaptability and efficiency.
