Finance Associate
Accounting, Operations & Special Projects Support
Summary:
Matlack Leasing, LLC and Penn Intermodal Leasing, LLC are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Finance Associate to support accounting functions, financial reporting, business operations, administrative follow-through, and the CEO’s Art & Culture efforts.

This role sits within the broader finance and accounting function and supports a variety of evolving business and organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, adaptability, and the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities. Experience utilizing AI and OpenAI technologies is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Accounting, Financial Reporting & Business Support:
- Support financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, accounting analysis, and routine accounting workflows
- Assist with AP/AR activity, month, quarter, and year-end close processes, and related documentation as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to prepare for and support year-end and other audits, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant documentation
- Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal processes, and company policies
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and organization of financial records and supporting documentation
- Manage financial data, documentation, and task follow-through across multiple priorities
- Take ownership of assigned tasks from start to finish, including follow-up and issue resolution

Operational Support & Project Coordination:
- Support special projects and operational initiatives across accounting and business operations
- Assist with problem-solving, process improvements, and organizational efficiency efforts
- Track assignments, follow-up items, and outstanding tasks to support timely completion
- Adapt to changing priorities and support evolving business initiatives

Art & Culture / Collection Management Support:
- Support the CEO's Art & Culture initiatives by organizing, documenting, and maintaining records for company artwork, cases, decorative pieces, and related art collections
- Maintain an organized inventory of CEO-owned artwork, cases and relevant notes
- Coordinate with internal team members and outside vendors as needed
Qualifications:Â
Education & Experience:
- Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is necessary
- Ability to interpret and work with financial charts, reporting data, and supporting documentation
- Experience with AI and OpenAI technologies is highly preferred
