Scope
The Development Analyst position is a member of the Development team within the Development group. The analyst reports to the Development Analyst Supervisor and supports both Engineering and Geoscience disciplines.
This position is responsible for optimizing field development strategies for assigned areas and supporting management approval of development plans that maximize high-return drilling opportunities while maintaining flexibility and meeting economic guidelines and corporate program targets.
Main Functions
  • Conduct complex analysis supporting development planning, well performance evaluations, and budgeting activities.
  • Utilize multiple systems and databases to organize, control, and summarize data for technical interpretation and analysis.
  • Maintain best practices for data integrity and governance.
  • Collaborate with Area Development Managers, Geologists, and Engineers to develop and communicate field development strategies.
  • Conduct Roadmap evaluations for development opportunities within assigned areas.
  • Maintain alignment between development plans and inventory databases used for:
    • Well approvals
    • Budgeting
    • Scheduling
    • Land trade evaluations
    • Facilities planning
    • Well permitting
    • Reserves
    • NAV processes
  • Create and communicate documentation required to initiate execution of approved development plans.
  • Create and manage Project Change Management requests.
  • Maintain spatial data and inventory within EM systems.
  • Perform ad hoc data requests, inventory scenario analysis, and economic evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Geology
    • Economics
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering
    • Related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical role.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and remain self-motivated.
  • Ability to understand business needs and work effectively across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience creating analytical visualizations using business intelligence tools.
Preferred
  • Oil and gas industry experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with:
    • Spotfire
    • Access
    • SQL
    • Oracle databases
  • GIS platform experience.
  • Experience supporting development planning, inventory management, economic evaluations, and related development workflows.
