Shipping & Receiving Clerk (Manufacturing)

Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials in a manufacturing facility. This role ensures accurate inventory control, timely shipment of finished goods, and proper handling of raw materials while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
Unload trucks using equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
Accurately label, store, and organize materials in designated warehouse locations
Prepare, package, and ship finished goods according to customer specifications
Generate and maintain shipping documents (BOLs, packing lists, labels, etc.)
Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure material availability
Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and system updates
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards
Report damaged or missing items and resolve discrepancies
Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and organized

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Basic computer skills (ERP systems, shipping software, Microsoft Office)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to read and interpret shipping documents

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
Work in a fast-paced, sometimes dusty or non-climate-controlled environment

Work Environment:

Manufacturing/warehouse setting
Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
Requires adherence to PPE and safety protocols
