What You’ll be Doing:

The Technician in Training position is designed to provide foundational technical skills and hands-on experience necessary to perform comprehensive total system balancing and validation of every component of an HVAC system, encompassing the complete spectrum of air handling and ventilating equipment, hydronic systems, and controls.

This role serves as an entry point for individuals seeking to develop expertise in HVAC systems and subsystems under the guidance of experienced professionals. The successful candidate will engage in learning and applying industry-standard procedures. Ultimately, this position aims to prepare the individual for advancement into a fully qualified Technician role.

  • Apply basic math skills to understand and use formulas and calculations for testing, adjusting, and balancing.
  • Read mechanical plans to locate equipment on project sites.
  • Learn proper setup, storage, operation, and calibration verification of field instrumentation.
  • Keep instrumentation and paperwork secure and ready for use.
  • Collect and accurately record field data for basic equipment.
  • Assist with testing, adjusting, and balancing systems according to standard procedures.
  • Follow all safety requirements for each task performed.
  • Participate in the EAB Technician Training Program, attend classes, complete assignments, and prepare for certification exams.

  • Cultivate leadership qualities for future advancement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or HSE required; two years of college preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Two years of related experience with high school diploma or HSE, OR
    • No experience required with two years of college.
  • Ability to cope with challenges and maintain attention to detail.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
