SUMMARY:

This Corporate Accounting position in the payroll area is responsible for accounting support for the Payroll, Benefits, Garnishment and Relocation functions for International and Domestic locations.  Activities and duties will include weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual processing and oversight of various payroll processes; researching accounting regulations and creating journal entries for various accruals related to Vacation, Holiday, Bonus, Severance, Relocation, Monthly Payroll Estimate, etc.; miscellaneous journal entries related to Payroll expenses and liabilities; ad-hoc reporting; reconciliation of accounts and formal Balance Sheet Recons; communicating with and providing information to vendors, unions, plant and corporate accounting and operations personnel; daily account analysis of direct deposit, and gift card related bank accounts and recommendations of funding; inventories and vendor relationship; running the payroll processes as needed; assisting with and/or handling audit inquiries from both internal and external sources; assisting with Payroll related controls reviews and processing; assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual tax processing and reports as well as coordination with W-2 vendors; accurate Payroll ledger posting; assisting Team Members with various inquires related to payroll, direct deposit, deductions, taxes and W-2 calls; and other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Requires a Bachelor s degree in an academic field directly related to the job being filled. Accounting or Finance Degree Preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years of accounting experience.
  • Computer Skills: Working knowledge of SAP (both financials and payroll) Microsoft Access and PowerPoint skills are preferred but not required. Experience with Power BI preferred, but not required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written, presentation and verbal communications skills required.  Direct one-on-one communications with TEAM Members, all levels of Management and outside vendors will be required.   
  • Special Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, research and understand accounting regulations related payroll accruals and interact with Team Members at all levels.
  •  Supervisory: This position does not have direct reports.
  •  Travel: Limited
