SUMMARY:   The Truck Shop – Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and replacing components on George’s fleet vehicles and equipment. This position also performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Service and repair fleet vehicles and equipment for George’s Inc.
• Identify problems on fleet vehicles and equipment, often by using computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Perform equipment diagnostics and troubleshoot to assess repairs costs.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals, and experience.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid State Driver’s license and be approved to drive per George’s Fleet Safety Program.
  • Possess demonstrated knowledge of repair, overhaul and replacement of major truck and vehicle components
• Preferred
  • Valid CDL
