Hugg and Hall Equipment Company is looking for someone with advanced mechanical knowledge and strong communication skills to join our team as a Service Tech in the shop.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Shop Service Techs are responsible for diagnosing and repairing various types of material handling and construction equipment at the local branch shop
In this role, you will:
- Perform equipment maintenance, inspections, and overhauls in the company's service shop
- Continuously communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers and co-workers including Salespeople, Coordinators, and Managers regarding job progress updates
- Operate in a safe, efficient manner with minimal supervision
- Adhere to safety guidelines while maintaining a clean and organized workspace

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 1-year of hands-on mechanical experience or training/education in a related field
- Prior experience as a service technician or mechanic in the material handling equipment industry a huge plus
- Must have or be able to obtain complete line of tools
- Technical skills in hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to read or be trained in reading schematics
- Ability to obtain equipment operator certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical college/trade school diploma or certification a big plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
This position:
- will be working in operating facilities and outdoors, the employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- will be frequently working on equipment with potential hazards where appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
- must be able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally may be required to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds. Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and crawling.
- requires bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting handling/fingering on a daily basis.
- must be able to wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
- must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.
