P2The Logistics Claims High Priority Coordinator plays a critical role in resolving high stakes claims that have significant financial impacts on the organization. This role manages complex cases referred by Logistics Call Center Specialists, including accidents, temperature issues, load shifts, and full load refusals for Poultry & Prepared Foods. The cases being processed by the High Priority teams generally are very high dollar that take an extended amount of time to complete. Each decision made by the HP Coordinator directly influences cost recovery, salvage opportunities, and the prevention of further financial losses.
Key Financial Responsibilities:
- Claim Resolution Impact: By resolving high-value claims efficiently, HP Coordinator’s minimize financial exposure from carrier errors and product damage. Mismanagement of these cases can result in millions in unrecoverable losses, while timely, strategic decisions enable cost recovery and savings.
- Collaboration Across Departments: Coordinating with Transportation Operations, FSQA, Plant/Warehouse Management, and other teams ensures accurate product disposition, which helps avoid costly delays, detention fees, and accessorial payments. Proper claim resolution can prevent further financial strain and optimize logistics operations.
- Reverse Logistics Process Oversight: Managing product returns and resale opportunities directly impacts Tyson’s bottom line. The coordinator ensures returned products are credited correctly, reducing financial liabilities and improving cash flow. Failure in this process could lead to double charges and lost revenue from incorrect inventory handling.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensuring all claims and dispositions comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations protects the company from costly legal risks and financial penalties. Accurate record-keeping and compliance help avoid fines and safeguard financial reporting integrity.
- Audits and Financial Accuracy: The HP Coordinator perform daily audits in the High Radius, Sessions and Power BI, ensuring all financial data is accurate for claims tracking and reporting. This directly supports accurate financial forecasts, KPIs, and cost management for the Distribution division.
The decisions made by the High Priority Coordinator can result in millions of dollars in savings or losses, directly influencing Tyson’s operational efficiency and financial performance.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma required; pursuing a BA degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of clerical experience; logistics or OS&D claims experience preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, High Radius, Power BI, SAP TM, TES, and call center software like Five9.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail for auditing claims data entry.
