Job Purpose/Summary 

Responsible for leading Trade Finance (Foodservice Distribution & Industrial Sales Groups) & accounting activities, including oversight of distributor incentives, rebates, contract pricing, trade spend, etc. Ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and company policies. Partners with Revenue Management, Trade Payables, Sales Finance, Foodservice Sales, etc. to provide financial insights and support business decision-making. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Lead execution and oversight of foodservice distribution trade accounting and forecasting activities. 
  • Ensure accurate accounting (accruals, spend oversight, balance sheet) for rebates, billbacks, distributor incentives, and contract pricing.  
  • Own quarter-end close process for Trade Finance activities (FS Distribution and Industrial Sales Groups). 
  • Supervise and manage Monthly LE process for trade.  
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal controls. 
  • Provide audit support and maintain documentation standards. 
  • Partner with Sales, Sales Finance, Revenue Management, and Trade payables on trade program planning and analysis. 
  • Review financial results and validate variance explanations. 
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements. 
  • Communicate results and risks to leadership. 
  • Manage escalations and resolve accounting issues. 
  • Lead and develop team members, including performance management and recruiting. 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Trade Finance processes. 

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

7+ years accounting or finance experience preferred

Management experience preferred

Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, develop, and engage team members.

Process improvement and system implementation experience preferred

Advanced Excel skills

Working knowledge of SAP

SAP AFE queries and Trade systems (Forge) experience preferred

Strong finance/accounting and internal control knowledge preferred

Strong AI skillset a plus to support process improvement and advance insights and analysis preferred.
