SUMMARY:

The Senior Customer Development Manager is responsible for building and implementing collaborative business solutions that align with both Tyson and customer objectives to achieve desired business results within the fresh tray pack chicken category. Key responsibilities include managing the sales and profitable growth of Tyson's fresh tray pack chicken business, providing sales leadership, and ensuring timely communication with customers and Tyson Business Units. This position is also responsible for planning, forecasting, and budgeting volume and growth in alignment with both customer and Tyson Business Unit objectives.

Due to the fresh-product nature of the business, this role may require occasional after-hours and weekend support to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Achieving sales volume and financial objectives

  • Develop and lead strategic customer relationships for collaboration and joint sales planning

  • Higher interaction with customer sales planning team in off-site customer office location

  • Provide timely, concise, and effective communication both internally and externally

  • Aligning and executing multiple business strategies

It is expected that this position will have an intense level of interaction and collaboration with customer service, the business unit, and the customer to deliver sales, operations, and logistics excellence.

Essential Duties:

  • Planning, forecasting, and achieving high-volume annual growth quotas

  • Managing weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with the customer and Tyson

  • Provide Tyson field support, direction, and communication

  • Special project planning and execution

  • T&E deduction AR resolution and reduction

  • Weekly sales reports

  • Planning and managing the annual promotional spending calendar

  • Track and report competitive activities

  • Conduct price and volume contract negotiations

  • Collaborate with production and production planning to optimize production flow and efficiencies

  • Collaborate with various internal teams to create winning business propositions that benefit Tyson and the customer

  • Work with the CSR team to manage and improve customer service

  • Live out the Tyson RIGHT Behaviors daily

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience:
7+ years of experience; fresh chicken sales experience preferred.
2+ years of sales experience in the Retail channel and/or 2+ years of National Accounts Direct Sales experience.

Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

Supervisory:
This position has one direct reports.

Travel:
10+ domestic trips per year.
