We are seeking an experienced Traveling Bridge Carpenter to support bridge and structural concrete construction projects. This role is responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks including forming, pouring, finishing, stripping, and general labor duties related to bridge construction. The ideal candidate will have experience working in heavy civil construction, be comfortable working outdoors in physically demanding conditions, and be committed to maintaining a safe and productive jobsite. This project is out of state and will require travel for 12+ months.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the construction, installation, and removal of concrete forms for bridge decks, walls, columns, caps, footings, and other structural components

  • Perform general carpentry duties related to bridge and concrete structure work

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work

  • Measure, mark, and cut materials to the required size and shape

  • Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality

  • Communicate regularly with other crew members and subcontractors to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget

  • Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines

  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry preferred

  • Previous experience in bridge construction, concrete form carpentry, heavy civil construction, or general construction labor preferred

  • Experience working with form systems, concrete placement, and structural carpentry preferred ​

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement

  • Experience with government contracts and compliance is a plus
