Position Summary:

The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating production, field service, repair, and preventative maintenance activities to ensure schedules, customer commitments, and operational objectives are achieved. This role serves as a key link between production teams and cross-functional departments by managing schedules, documentation, labor administration, production priorities, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Coordinator supports operational efficiency through daily management activities, problem resolution, capacity planning, process improvement efforts, and the timely flow of materials and information throughout the manufacturing process.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages field service, repair, and preventative maintenance scheduling and requests.
  • Leads weekly production meetings to ensure critical milestones and schedules are being maintained.
  • Ensures critical tasks are addressed promptly to ensure production schedules are maintained and customer commitments are met.
  • Takes a lead role in ensuring documentation is provided to the production floor promptly including travelers, drawings, test documentation, and customer specifications.
  • Serves as a back-up for production order entry activities.
  • Works with the technician team to ensure production capacity is maintained and gaps in capacity are addressed proactively.
  • Initiates and leads continuous improvement projects focused on process gaps in the manufacturing process.
  • Manages timecard entry for Technicians and Engineers.
  • Spearheads urgent requests for production and collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve rapid resolution.
  • Leads the daily management process (SQDIPE) and analysis of data to drive improvement opportunities.
  • Takes part in Kaizen events, 5S activities, and other process improvements.
  • Ensures material being removed from jobs and left after jobs is dispositioned and removed from the shop floor.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel and Adobe Acrobat 

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
  • 1-2 years of production scheduling experience.
  • 2 years’ experience working in a production environment.
  • Custom manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Experience working within a business enterprise system a plus.
  • AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None specifically associated with this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Both office and manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
