Job Description:
The pharmacy automation technician has in depth working knowledge of department automation systems (Robot-RX, Omnicell, narcotic vault, pre-packaging machines, CPM Carousel, IV Station, etc) including hardware and software necessary to operate these systems. These technicians are also responsible for controlled substance ordering, receiving, dispensing and record keeping functions and quality assurance projects as related to automation or controlled substances. The automation technician will provide direction and assist with supervision of technicians involved in daily cart fill and packaging operations. This position ensures the completion of all robot and packager daily operational tasks. This position will manage the Omnicell and Connect RX Databases. This role may also have roles in the working operation of the IV robot as appropriate. Focused skill areas may vary as deemed necessary.Education: ▪ Required: Pharmacy automation competency evaluation completed within 90 days of hire, then annually, to maintain baseline operations with pharmacy automation systems. ▪ Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience: ▪ Required: 1-2 years related experience Skills: ▪ Good verbal and written communication skills ▪ Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams ▪ Proficient in using computers and computer systems such as excel, word, and power point Licensure/Certification/Registration: • Required: Must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician through a nationally accredited Pharmacy organization. • Required: Registered with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or application in process upon hire and obtained within 90 days of hireLearn more about this Employer on their Career Site
