Job Summary:


The Sterilization Technician is responsible for keeping dental instruments clean, sanitized, organized and ready for use.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with and follows OSHA standards.
  • Ensures that instruments are sterilized as soon as feasible as they are brought into central sterilization.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and order of all areas of sterilization.
  • Keeps accurate logs of spore testing.
  • Uses the system in place to monitor and track the instruments through sterilization.
  • Keeps the dental director apprised of any issues or concerns with equipment, supplies or procedures related to sterilization.
  • Is responsive to special requests or needs of the providers with regard to instruments and handpieces.
  • All other duties as assigned.
