POSITION SUMMARY Â
The Fire Inspector is responsible for ensuring buildings and properties comply with fire safety laws and regulations to prevent fires and protect lives and property.Â

 $23.90/hr. - $5.09 H&W
Â
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly maintenance of assigned vehicle.Â
- Conduct Fire Prevention Inspections as outlined in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards, DODI 6055.6, 6055.06M, AR 420-1, CFR 1910.120. Non-emergency hazardous conditions.Â
- You will collect technical information on the building/facility.Â
- You will research technical manuals, fire codes, or trade reference books to gain additional information and ascertain the fire characteristics.Â
- You will exercise authority to shut down any operation where violations represent a clearly demonstrable threat to public safety.Â
- You will conduct fire and life safety training and secure involvement in fire prevention, detection, and suppression.Â
- You will provide fire warden training to installation personnel to ensure compliance with day to day fire prevention regulations within designated building and facilities.Â
- You will document inspection findings and deficiencies in the data management system.Â
- Track, inspect, and replace extinguishers as needed.Â
- Work is typically based in a busy office and field environment. Â
- Business work hours are 40 hours a week. Â
- Ability to work during inclement weather.  Â
- Travel may be required.  Â
- Subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, high noise levels, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Â
- Must wear multiple types of PPE. Â
- May lift and carry up to 50 lbs.  Â
- Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles.  Â
- May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator.  Â
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, often without breaks, and may be required to climb stairs or ladders and walk-up inclines and on uneven terrain.  Â
- Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract.Â
- Other tasks as required.Â

QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- US CitizenÂ
- Must be at least 18 years old to applyÂ
- No criminal record.Â
- GED or High School DiplomaÂ
- Valid drivers’ licenseÂ
- Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screeningÂ
- Must be certified, as an IFSAC/Pro-Board, Fire Inspector II and in HazMat Awareness.Â
- Must obtain Public Fire and Life Safety Educator 2 within 12 months of hire.Â
