Veterinary Assistant for busy 24/7/365 ER

Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Veterinary Assistant at our bustling 24/7/365 Emergency Room. You will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and providing compassionate care to our animal patients. This position is ideal for those with a passion for animal welfare and a desire to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments
• Prepare animals and work areas for procedures and surgeries
• Monitor and document animal vitals and behavior
• Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners and addressing their concerns

Required skills:

• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle emergencies calmly
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and healthcare
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Physical ability to lift and restrain animals
