BIM Mechanical Modeler / Drafter 1.5.3

The BIM and Mechanical Drafting Support Specialist will provide expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and mechanical drafting to support the creation, updating, and verification of BIM models with a focus on mechanical systems. ​ The role involves conducting site visits, annotating as-built conditions, and utilizing advanced design software to ensure accurate and efficient facility management. ​

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Model Development and Updates: ​

·       Utilize Autodesk AEC Suite (Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and Trimble SketchUp design software to create and update BIM models, with an emphasis on mechanical systems. ​

·       Conduct research to update mechanical BIM models and provide information for facility maintenance and renovations. ​

Site Visits and Verification: ​

·       Perform site visits to verify the physical installation of mechanical systems. ​

·       Annotate as-built conditions based on site observations and ensure accuracy in BIM models. ​

Technical Expertise and Documentation: ​

·       Provide technical expertise in mechanical drafting and BIM modeling. ​

·       Prepare and submit Service Engineering Reports/Technical Reports (CDRL A003), including discrepancy/anomaly reports and recommended standard change forms. ​

·       Provide presentation materials (CDRL A005) for Government approval at least five working days before distribution or presentation. ​

Compliance and Security: ​

·       Ensure adherence to all DoD, USAF, and USSTRATCOM security requirements. ​

·       Maintain compliance with classified program security protocols and ensure proper handling of sensitive information. ​

Qualifications:

Experience:

·       Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a BIM modeler with an emphasis on mechanical systems.

·       Knowledge of principles, policies, and practices related to mechanical systems and BIM modeling. ​

·       Experience conducting research and updating BIM models for facility maintenance and renovations. ​

Technical Expertise: ​

·       Proficiency in Autodesk AEC Suite (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and Trimble SketchUp design software.

·       Ability to annotate as-built conditions based on site visits and physical system verification. ​

Security Clearance: ​Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). ​

Other Requirements:

·       U.S. Citizenship is mandatory. ​

·       Ability to comply with DoD and USSTRATCOM security requirements. ​

·       Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
