ECS is seeking a Data Scientist to work in a hybrid remote/onsite capacity, with minimum of 3 business days onsite at our Fairfax, VA corporate office and/or our Springfield, VA customer site.

 

ECS seeks a Data Scientist to support a project team responsible for managing an Artificial Intelligence initiative. The work is performed in a multidisciplinary and collaborative team environment. This role will report to a project lead and will focus on developing and applying methods to analyze data for Artificial Intelligence development across multiple classification levels and environments.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participate in technical exchange meetings and discussions with our customers, vendors, and internal team to help coordinate, prioritize, and track datasets supporting AI efforts.
  • Work in person at the required office and, as needed, classified locations with team members and customer stakeholders.
  • Help cultivate an environment that promotes customer service, excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Mentor and train junior data scientists to learn and correctly apply data science skills.
  • Develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance GEOINT processes, and systems.
  • Perform mathematical and statistical analysis of data to identify trends and generate observations that will be placed in reports for leadership.
  • Document and visualize data both temporally and spatially to assist in data integrity checks, analyze data, and display analytical assessments.
  • Understand and interpret data from a variety of geospatial data sources and disparate datasets.
  • Develop and document data workflows, assisting stakeholders with data management tasks, procedures, and best practices across multiple environments and classification levels.
  • Independently identify, document, and address technical challenges.
  • Automate analytic workflows using python or other coding languages
  • Provide advanced data visualization to convey findings and communicate insights utilizing GIS or visualization software capabilities.

Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Active Secret Clearance and ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5+ years of overall relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated advanced experience with Python (i.e. numpy, pandas, matplotlib libraries).
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in SQL and NoSQL technologies.
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency of database principles and technology.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with mathematical, statistical, or scientific data science techniques
  • Demonstrated advanced data transformation skills.
  • Demonstrated advanced data processing and analytic skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based database solutions.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience text parsing.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in metadata tagging (data storage, processing and & analyzing).
  • Demonstrated advanced experience in work with a variety of geospatial data formats.
