Job Summary:

Supports the University as a general facilities assistant/helper. Uses college-provided vehicle and equipment to assist custodial/maintenance/grounds personnel as required. Assisting in furniture, equipment, and/or materials moving and arranging. Assisting in special large-scale set-up, teardown, and clean-up situations such as before, during and following basketball games, graduation ceremonies, and residence hall clean-up and preparations between uses, as well as other occasional special needs as directed by supervisor.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist with set-up and tear down for major events.
  • Assist with cleaning classrooms, offices, and general use areas on campus.
  • Assist with window washing equipment, and washes windows.
  • Assist with trash removal.
  • Assist with moving equipment and furniture.
  • Miscellaneous shop clean-up work.
  • Assist custodial, maintenance, and grounds personnel with their various duties as needs dictate.
  • Assists with snow removal (when applicable fall/spring semesters).
  • Assist with recycling in the summer (when applicable).


Required Skills/Abilities: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ability to be punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to accept responsibility for the security of equipment, supplies, and keys.
  • Must possess a legal driver's license and have the ability to drive a standard transmission vehicle.
  • Ability to learn how to use various grounds and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to courteously use telephone and radio.
  • Must be a regular, full-time day school student, enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester.
  • Must have a completed FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid Department for the current academic year.
