Primary Location: United States (US) - Missouri  - Springfield 

 

As an Assembly Salvage employee with John Deere in Springfield, MO, you will:

 

Perform disassembly of engines & accessories, drivetrain & hydraulics, water/oil pumps or fuel pumps in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.

 

Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following: 

  • Communicate with Team Leader and Supervisor to prioritize production of units.
  • Drain oil, fuel and remove all parts, bolts and plugs.
  • Clean and blast fuel pumps as necessary.
  • Move disassembled components to the next process.
  • Stamp identifying numbers on all major engine components and record in daily log.
  • Disassemble units according to B.O.M. and O.M.S. processes.
  • Move units through the process from station to station completing paperwork, AMES and SAP transactions as required.
  • Assist and support other team members.
  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job. 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
    • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
    • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift – with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: (What makes you stand out) 

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (assembly, disassembly, or salvage operations) that includes:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools
    • Basic computer skills for data entry / accessing of digital work instructions
