Maintenance Generalist (Engineering) - FT/80

Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering and following the specifically defined policies and procedures of Springfield Hospital, the Maintenance Generalist will:

• Be responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of a variety of building utility systems, building infrastructure, interiors, buildings and grounds, landscaping, and non-medical equipment in compliance with the applicable CMS Conditions of Participation. 
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of critical and non-critical systems, equipment, and components. 
• Develop preventive maintenance programs for new equipment based upon manufacturer’s recommendations. 
• Coordinate with vendors/contractors for projects and maintenance as required. 
• Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, education opportunities, and related training.

This position requires rotating on-call responsibilities. 

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 4 years’ general maintenance experience
• Commercial construction experience (preferred)
• Health care environment experience (preferred)
• Carpentry/ experience, including masonry, wall finishing, cabinetry, etc. (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Training/certification in construction technology, facility maintenance, carpentry or other related field (preferred) 
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Basic computer proficiency 

Salary Range: The base rate for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour. The hourly range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position. The rate for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate.
