The MOHA Billing Clerk is responsible for ensuring that charges are invoiced on a daily basis, mailing out all invoices/HCFAs weekly, and providing routine follow up to ensure that companies/insurance carriers remain current on outstanding bills.

Job Relationships
Reports to the Operations Manager

Principal Responsibilities
Timely charge entry for all MOHA patient encounters.
Send out MOHA HCFA's, invoices, and statements.
Timely bill and collect MOHA outside income.
Collect MOHA accounts receivables.
Cover MOHA reception desk as needed.
Provide assistance to Manager in entering and maintaining client demographics/contact information.
Provide assistance to Manager in end of month processing.
Participate in and become knowledgeable in computer system upgrades.
Sort mail and send receipts to PA Remittance Processing.
Serve as a mentor for new employees, following trainer's suggestions for specific needs.
Monitor work flow & concerns, keeping manager informed.  Watch for potential backlogs.  Communicate daily work issues with manager.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.

Education/Experience
High School graduate or GED required. 
Two (2) years of experience with physician Patient Accounting operations.  Additional appropriate education may be substituted for Patient Accounting experience.
Computer and calculator experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Work effectively with Manager and staff.
Knowledge of Clinic operating policies.
Knowledge of Business Office policies and procedures.
Act as a role model for staff, exhibiting a positive, respectful attitude towards others. 
Communicate clearly.
