Overview

Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Project Engineer in Springfield, VA to join our team. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

*This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position.

  • Assist Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer and act as support for the field.
  • Know the contractual obligations that HCC has with the client and vice versa.
  • Review and log shop drawings; assist field engineers with processing of submittals and RFI’s
  • Code materials, labor and equipment.
  • Procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project.
  • Process material submittals and requests for information.
  • Assist with Subcontract administration
  • Acquire and assist with closing construction-related permits
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a construction related position preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Must be highly motivated.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore is a plus.

 

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
