Position Summary

The Quality Specialist is responsible for compiling, reviewing, and maintaining quality documentation and customer data packages to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Working closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Shipping, and Customer Service teams, this role supports documentation accuracy, product quality, and on-time customer deliveries. 

Responsibilities

  • Compiles data packages and certificates per customer requirements, including initiating the package at top-level kit release and organizing all documentation for final shipment.
  • Review data packages for completeness, legibility, revision-level accuracy, and configuration compliance before customer submission.
  • Responsible for coordinating & witnessing customer/DCMA visits per quality plans and purchase order requirements.
  • Sign off on the job traveler, data package, and Certificate of Conformance (CofC) once all items are verified as complete.
  • Work with customer service, shipping, and planning on RMA. Receive parts in by reviewing warranty status and documenting as-is part condition
  • Communicate and escalate with the internal team about general quality issues and issue nonconformance products. 
  • Assist Quality Engineers and Quality Managers where needed. 

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing documentation or quality assurance 
  • Demonstrated experience compiling controlled documentation packages (travelers, CoFCs, test records, material certs)
  • Able to read specifications, drawings, prints, and schematics.
  • Experience with customer websites and portal is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). and Adobe (pdf merging and moving documents digitally)
  • Must be detail oriented and have good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting customer and government audits.
  • Familiarity with document control and configuration management practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong record-keeping and compliance management skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move documentation boxes or materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments as needed.
