The Residential Specialist provides general oversight and support to residents in a residential housing environment while promoting safety, independence, personal growth, and recovery. In this role, you will provide in-the-moment coaching, supervision, skill development, crisis resolution, medication support, and treatment plan implementation while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.Â

Key Responsibilities:Â
· Provide supportive supervision and guidance to residents while promoting independence, personal responsibility, and successful community livingÂ
· Teach and reinforce daily living skills including meal preparation, housekeeping, personal hygiene, laundry, and activity planningÂ
· Facilitate assigned resident groups and encourage participation, growth, and positive behavioral changeÂ
· Implement treatment plan interventions and incorporate therapeutic support into daily resident interactionsÂ
· Monitor the safety and security of residents, facilities, and program environments throughout each shiftÂ
· Support crisis intervention and conflict resolution efforts while maintaining a positive and structured living environmentÂ
· Monitor resident interactions, visitor activity, and compliance with program expectations to ensure a safe community settingÂ
· Administer, document, count, and oversee medications in accordance with program procedures and training requirements, as applicableÂ
· Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and treatment team members regarding residents' medical and behavioral health needsÂ
· Serve as a staff advisor for assigned residents and complete related treatment planning and documentation responsibilitiesÂ
· Complete resident progress notes, communication logs, and other required documentation accurately and within established timeframesÂ
· Attend and actively participate in meetings with residential staff, supervisors, treatment teams, and other departments as assignedÂ

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:Â
· High school diploma or GED requiredÂ
· Some experience in Human Services or a related field requiredÂ
· Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field preferredÂ
· Associate degree in Behavioral Health Services or a related field may be consideredÂ
· Must successfully complete CPR and First Aid certification requirementsÂ
· Must complete Medication Administration training as required by assigned housing programÂ
· Must complete annual TB testing and physical health screeningsÂ
· Must successfully pass all required background screeningsÂ

Additional Qualifications:Â
· Must be at least 21 years of ageÂ
· Must possess a valid Missouri driver's licenseÂ
· Must be able to obtain a Chauffeur's Driver's LicenseÂ
· Must maintain a current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insuranceÂ
· Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, policies, procedures, and operating instructionsÂ
· Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, and community partnersÂ
· Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and documentation accuratelyÂ
· Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships through telephone and in-person interactionsÂ
· Ability to exercise sound judgment, follow direction, and work effectively under supervisionÂ
· Successful completion of background checks including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect screenings, and fingerprint checks requiredÂ

Physical RequirementsÂ
· Perform sedentary work requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently to move objectsÂ
· Use hands, fingers, and arms for repetitive tasks including typing, writing, and documentation throughout the work shiftÂ
· Remain seated for extended periods while completing documentation and administrative dutiesÂ
· Occasionally walk or stand for brief periods while supervising residents and performing job functionsÂ
· Perform physical activities consistent with a sedentary work environment while maintaining resident oversight and supportÂ
