Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Responder in Fairfax, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with professional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting using computer and/or tablet tools. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of corridors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards, with working environments and conditions varying by assignment.
  • Control access by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials when required, managing visitor check-in directions, and assisting with wayfinding while following privacy and confidentiality expectations.
  • Monitor cameras and/or alarm systems when assigned, report unusual activity, and complete routine logs, reports, and shift handoffs in accordance with Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
