Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Operations in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. Join Allied Universal in a dynamic aerospace and defense location where you will patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support access awareness and customer service. Pay Rate: $29.59 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns through established channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, controlled areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related issues.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations as required by site procedures, and support access control protocols for restricted or sensitive areas.
• Support site operations by communicating with supervisors, employees, and/or first responders during routine activities and incidents, while following Allied Universal standards and post instructions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 1+ years of law enforcement experience or 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience or 3+ years of security experience.
• Possess an armed guard card/license.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
