As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will design and develop complex laser and electro-optical systems for military and/or aerospace applications.  Duties include project team technical leadership from project inception through delivery.  The responsibilities require full knowledge of military/aerospace design cycles and general design requirements and development of robust design solutions to meet laser performance specifications.  Duties would also include creating detailed CAD models and drawings, analyzing systems thermally and structurally, initiating procurements, supporting assembly and testing of systems, preparing technical reports, and participating in design review meetings.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading technical team efforts to create mechanical system laser design solutions and architecture.
  • Detailing design CAD models and drawings.
  • Analyzing systems thermally and structurally
  • Initiating procurements.
  • Supporting assembly and testing of systems.
  • Preparing technical reports.
  • Leading design review meetings.

Requirements


• Experience in the design and analysis of electro-optical systems for military and/or aerospace applications
• Experience in the design of thermal control systems, packaging of electronics, precision mechanisms, and sealed enclosures
• Expertise in Creo software
• Experience with ANSYS software a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• On-site only


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required, MS preferred
• 15 years relevant experience minimum
