This is also a unique growth opportunity within DPG. You would be the first DPG employee supporting this program in Virginia, helping establish our presence with the customer and creating a strong foundation for future growth.

You will work alongside infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, and mission teams to modernize and operate secure systems in a classified environment. The ideal candidate brings strong Linux administration experience, a DevSecOps mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot across the stack.

Responsibilities

  • Support the modernization of systems that are tightly coupled to underlying infrastructure.
  • Design, maintain, and improve build, integration, test, deployment, and operational pipelines.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including provisioning, patching, hardening, performance tuning, networking, user management, and system security.
  • Develop and maintain automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Bash, and Python.
  • Support CI/CD tooling and developer platforms, including Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira, and related pipeline tools.
  • Work with virtualization and platform technologies such as VMware ESXi, vCenter, Rancher, Kubernetes, and containerized services.
  • Integrate security and compliance into the platform through access management, encryption, vulnerability remediation, configuration control, and secure deployment practices.
  • Collaborate with software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure technical solutions.
  • Provide operational support for mission systems, including troubleshooting applications, Linux services, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
  • Support storage and infrastructure operations, including NAS, SAN, and related enterprise systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of experience in Linux systems administration, DevOps, DevSecOps, infrastructure engineering, or platform operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Linux systems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with RHEL provisioning, kickstart, patching, Satellite servers, RPM package creation, performance tuning, networking, user management, hardening, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, Rancher, Kubernetes, containers, or similar platform technologies.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience developing, testing, securing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Rancher, or Helm.
  • Experience supporting secure software factories, hardened pipelines, or mission application environments.
  • Experience with AWS, GovCloud, or hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Packer, or Ansible.
  • Experience with STIGs, vulnerability remediation, access controls, RMF, or compliance-driven environments.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a technical owner who understands how systems are built, how they fail, how to automate repeatable work, and how to keep secure mission environments stable and scalable.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, wants visibility with the customer, and is excited by the opportunity to help DPG grow into a new program area. You will have the chance to make a direct impact technically while helping establish DPG’s reputation as a trusted partner in Virginia.
