Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance, is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities and equipment. This role involves inspecting, repairing, and documenting maintenance activities while managing work orders and coordinating with contractors. The position requires adherence to safety regulations and company standards, operation of heavy machinery, and effective communication with team members to support continuous improvement. The technician plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance, contributing to a safe and well-maintained environment aligned with Walmart’s mission and values.

What you'll do:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities and equipment while documenting wear, repair needs, and replacement requirements.
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and company vehicles following safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Order parts, track inventory, submit warranty claims, and process maintenance invoices accurately.
  • Identify hazards, report deficiencies, and take corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement process improvements and support business priorities.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and fixtures following established schedules and guidelines.
  • Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and in compliance with certification and safety procedures.
  • Strong skills in managing work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor coordination with accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA and EPA standards, ensuring compliance in all maintenance activities.
  • Capability to identify, document, and recommend repair or replacement needs to prevent future issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support collaboration and continuous improvement.

The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Vocational or technical certification and 2 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Option 2: 4 years' experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
