As an HVAC Technician at Micron, you will ensure reliable operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and related mechanical systems that support sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing. You will retain controlled manufacturing environments, support safe facility operations, and collaborate with operations and engineering teams to improve system performance and reliability.

 

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, and specialty air systems to ensure stable temperature, humidity, air flow, and filtration performance.
  • Supervise and control systems using the Facility Management Control System (FMCS), responding to alarms and performing safe equipment start-ups and shutdowns.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC and mechanical equipment issues, identify root causes, prioritize corrective actions, and make parameter adjustments to maintain system efficiency.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), corrective maintenance, and work orders in the Facilities Management System (FMS) while ensuring accurate, compliant documentation.
  • Collaborate with site engineering on system modifications, continuous improvement initiatives, and reviews of system installations or upgrades.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) training and perform hazard assessments while promoting safe work practices.
  • Communicate optimally with team members during pass-downs and document actions, responding promptly to out-of-spec environmental conditions.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work safely in industrial environments, including rotating machinery, pressurized systems, chemicals, and at heights using ladders or lifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to interpret HVAC performance data, read and follow procedures, and complete required training assignments.
  • Proven solving and problem-solving skills for mechanical, HVAC, and environmental-control systems.
  • Ability to work in areas with active construction, equipment traffic, and industrial hazards.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating or maintaining HVAC systems in industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with FMCS/SCADA systems, alarm response, and environmental monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting continuous-improvement, reliability, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom HVAC requirements or environmental control standards.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams on HVAC system installations or invent reviews.
