Job Description

JOB POSITION SUMMARY                                     

This role is for the Production Supervisor at the KHA factory in Springfield, Ohio. This role could supervise material handling and production staff, so it could have both warehousing and manufacturing responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively drive the workflow ensuring quality results and on-time delivery in cooperation with other workflows in other lines.
  • Supervise employees assigned to the department including work assignments, motivating the team, hiring, terminations, performance reviews, training, and cross training. 
  • Lead implementation of change and improvement in the areas.
  • Ensure Pulse and Hour-to-Hour boards are kept accurate and up to date, ensuring misses are followed up on and resolved.
  • Communicate: Keep the employees, peers, managers, and support groups informed of vital information that pertains to them.
  • Promote and drive safety initiatives, including safety programs, training, incident investigations, incident prevention/corrective action, and setting safe work practices within the area. 
  • Support the company’s KC Way Lean Manufacturing initiatives: 5S, Kaizen Events, Lean Projects to eliminate wastes, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and obtain results from others.
  • Hands-on attitude.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable with ISO quality requirements, OSHA standards, and familiar with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
