Senior Systems Administrator (Windows/IIS)  
Location: Remote

About the Role
Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to support secure federal application environments. This role is responsible for maintaining Windows and IIS servers, supporting production systems, coordinating patching activities, monitoring system health, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system security and reliability.
The ideal candidate has strong experience administering Windows-based environments, supporting IIS-hosted applications, and working in highly regulated federal environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Windows servers and IIS environments
  • Provide software installations, upgrades, and system maintenance
  • Coordinate and implement security patches and updates
  • Monitor system performance and respond to alerts
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide operational support
  • Manage user access and account support requests
  • Implement automation and operational improvements
  • Support application availability and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with developers, DBAs, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to project teams

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of Systems Administration experience
  • Strong Windows Server administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with IIS configuration and administration
  • Experience with patch management and system monitoring
  • Strong troubleshooting and production support skills
  • Experience supporting secure, enterprise-level environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SCOM or other enterprise monitoring tools
  • Experience supporting federal government environments
  • Familiarity with high-availability systems and SLA-driven operations
  • Experience coordinating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams
  • Ability to support scheduled maintenance activities outside normal business hours when required
