 Responsibilities

  • Fit, tack, and weld stainless steel components according to detailed drawings (channels, brackets, angles, sheathing, assemblies, and sub-assemblies)
  • Ensure all dimensions and welds meet specified standards and tolerances
  • Set up welding equipment and prepare materials for welding
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout and welding operations
  • Perform welding in all positions (6G) using G.T.A.W. process on stainless steel
  • Operate a thumb control on a TIG hand welder and feed wire simultaneously (2+ years of experience preferred)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MIG welding (2+ years of experience preferred)
  • Polish and clean weld joints
  • Read and interpret weld symbols and blueprints
  • Pass ASME/PED weld tests, including 6G pipe test and vertical down pulse welds      within approximately one week
  • Calculate circumferences and fabricate equipment accurately
  • Inspect grooves, angles, and gap allowances using precision measuring instruments
  • Perform NDT/Liquid Penetrant testing on electro-polished vessel welds
  • Bevel materials to facilitate tack welding and plate assembly
  • Operate overhead crane and/or forklift
  • Maintain safe and proper operation of shop equipment
  • Use body buffers and right-angle grinders safely and effectively
  • Work in confined spaces and varying temperature environments
  • Recommend improvements and contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
  • Execute other tasks as assigned
  • Ability to travel when required


Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to perform basic math equations and read a tape measure
  • Strong problem-solving and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in using hand tools and basic fabrication tools
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in reading blueprints
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean/Six Sigma is a plus
  • Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site
