Purpose and Overall Duties The Rehabilitation Technician (Rehab Tech) supports therapy staff in providing rehabilitation services in a long-term care or related setting. The role assists with patient care activities, preparation of treatment areas, and maintenance of equipment to ensure efficient and effective therapy operations. II. Essential Job Functions A. Patient Support Assist patients with non-clinical aspects of therapy sessions under the direction of licensed therapy staff Help patients prepare for and transition between therapy activities Support patient transport to and from therapy areas as needed Provide encouragement and assistance to promote patient participation and safety B. Therapy Support / Equipment Management Prepare and maintain therapy treatment areas, equipment, and supplies Clean, organize, and disinfect equipment in accordance with infection control standards Set up therapy equipment as directed by therapy staff Monitor inventory of supplies and report needs to appropriate personnel C. Documentation / Logistics / Patient Satisfaction Assist with non-clinical documentation and administrative tasks as directed Support scheduling and coordination of therapy activities Contribute to patient satisfaction by maintaining a clean, organized, and supportive environment Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols D. Collaboration / Team Support Work under the supervision and direction of licensed therapy staff Communicate effectively with therapists and team members regarding patient needs and workflow Participate in team meetings or training sessions as required E. Professional Development Participate in training and development activities Maintain knowledge of safety procedures and infection control practices Support a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement III. Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior healthcare or rehabilitation experience preferred CPR certification preferred (or required per facility policy) V. Essential Physical Demands Ability to assist with patient transport and positioning using safe techniques and assistive devices Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the workday Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying of equipment or supplies Ability to lift or move equipment and assist patients as appropriate within safe practice guidelines Ability to use proper body mechanics in accordance with safety standards VI. Work Environment Long-term care or clinical setting Ability to travel to various locations where patients are located, including long-term care, short-term care, and private homes. This work will involve ability to enter and access buildings, work with patient in their existing space. Varying environmental conditions may be encountered while traveling.
