Position Summary

Novae is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Painter to join our production team. The Painter will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing trailer components and assemblies while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and performing other required preparation.
  • Apply paint, primer, coatings, and finishes using spray equipment and other approved methods.
  • Inspect finished products for proper coverage, color, texture, and overall quality.
  • Identify and correct paint defects or imperfections.
  • Properly mix and handle paints, primers, and other approved materials.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and painting equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and hazardous material handling guidelines.
  • Maintain production schedules and meet department quality and productivity expectations.
  • Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, or material shortages to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous painting experience preferred; manufacturing or automotive/trailer painting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to use spray guns and other painting equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as required.
  • Must be dependable and maintain regular attendance.

The Painter is expected to follow all company safety policies, properly use required PPE, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and produce work that meets Novae's quality standards.

Job Summary: Paint team members are responsible for painting and washing quality trailer with outstanding service in a safe manner and must be able to manufacture in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure your own safety by always using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools designed and rated for the task, complying with safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup and throughput goals.
  • Operate all power tools and machinery in the paint department effectively and respectfully.
  • Read and understand work orders, schedules, and work instructions.
  • Perform quality checks and product inspections by completing final inspection sheets, as directed by assigned production supervisor. 
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to shift startup to ensure the safety of you and your coworkers, as well as the operational effectiveness of equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities in directly job-related experiences. 
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination with the ability to safely lift 80 pounds with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts with potential overtime.
  • Willing to submit a pre-employment background check.
  • Able to work in a self-directed way to manage multiple demands of time and attention in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
