Experience with IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) refers to conditions that affect cognitive functioning and adaptive behavior (e.g., autism, Down syndrome).
Co-morbidities are additional medical or mental health conditions that occur alongside IDD, such as:

  • Seizure disorders
  • Anxiety or depression
  • ADHD
  • Diabetes or hypertension
  • Mobility or speech impairments
  • Other Mental Health  
Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients’ vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse)
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed
  • Assist patients with daily activities (bathing, dressing, eating)
  • Perform basic wound care and dressing changes
  • Collect samples for lab testing (blood, urine, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate patient records and report changes
  • Help patients and families understand care plans
