Job Description

The Calibration Technician is a critical role at Morehouse. It requires calibrating customer equipment to the latest ASTM and ISO standards, which means following Morehouse procedures and quality programs, and adhering to the beliefs and core values that have built Morehouse over 100 years into what it is today.

You will gain experience calibrating a range of force-measuring devices and indicators on calibration machines varying in capacity from less than 1 pound up to 2,000,000 pounds of force. You will be part of a fast-paced work center that will challenge you daily to be the best you can be. You must have a great work ethic, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with a team of technicians to solve problems and learn every day, so we can provide our customers with the best-quality product in a timely manner.

Essential Job Duties

Calibration and Testing:

  • Calibrate force and torque measuring equipment according to all applicable standards and procedures.
  • Use computer programs to run automated calibrations as appropriate.

Quality and Documentation:

  • Validate calibration results to determine if equipment is in or out of tolerance, ensure equipment and reports meet our quality standards, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare and verify calibration certificates for final approval.
  • Document any abnormal condition and determine the level of severity for reporting to quality and the customer.

Scheduling and Equipment Setup:

  • Use a weekly workload schedule to meet production expectations and ensure timely service to the customer.
  • Determine the proper adapters and fittings for setting up equipment in calibration machines, and ensure all adapters are stored and maintained correctly.


Job Type: Hourly - Full Time
Hours: 07:00 am - 03:30 pm
Pay: $22.00 - $23.50 per hour, with additional profit share paid out twice a year, including a catch-up payment (last year's full payout was $20,000 per employee).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work is primarily performed indoors.
  • May experience occasional exposure to distracting noise levels.
  • Work in shared office spaces near others.
  • Requires continual walking, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
  • Climbing steps and using step stools on a daily basis, with occasional use of step ladders.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting using the assistance of team members or overhead cranes and lifting devices.
