Janitor/ Maintenance Crew

Description

Janitorial Duties

• Clean and stock restrooms, including replenishing supplies.
• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors and stairways in office and plant areas.
• Gather and dispose of trash, rubbish, and waste materials throughout the facility.
• Dust surfaces, equipment areas, and common spaces.

Building Maintenance

• Clean interior walls, windows, and glass surfaces.
• Perform minor painting, touch-ups, and surface repairs.
• Replace light bulbs and basic fixtures.
• Hang signs, bulletin boards, and safety postings.
• Assist with minor facility repairs and general upkeep.
• Report maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.

Groundskeeping

• Remove debris from walkways, entrances, and outdoor areas.
• Weed and maintain flower beds and landscaped areas.
• Clean and maintain parking lot and loading docks.
• Support seasonal tasks such as sweeping, light snow removal, or salting walkways (if applicable).
• Perform other cleaning duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.  Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, standard practices, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial work.   Skilled in the use of janitorial tools, equipment and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners and cleaning compounds and solutions.
