Commercial Loan Assistant

Position Overview:  

Provides direct assistance and support to the Commercial Lending Supervisor and Commercial Lending staff. Provides excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and requests with a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, and appropriate follow through with Commercial Lending team.  

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provides administrative support to the Commercial Lending Supervisor and Commercial Lending staff by reviewing/completing loan documentation, assisting customers, and performing a variety of administrative tasks.
• Provides excellent customer service by directly communicating with customers (internal and external) to answer questions and solve concerns as it relates to the commercial lending process. 
• Assists the Commercial Lending Supervisor and Commercial Lending staff with monitoring and closing of commercial applications/renewals.  
• Provides research assistance to the Commercial Lending staff with regards to loan documentation and reporting.
• Provides assistance in annual review process directly under the guidance of the Commercial Lending Supervisor and Underwriting/Asset Quality Manager.
• Provides support for all departments requiring information about commercial loans.
• Provides support for numerous participation programs including VEDA, SBA and FSA, including required servicing and monitoring.
• Adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and all other laws and regulations that pertain to the job function.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. College degree is preferred with concentration in business and/or accounting.

Experience: Two years of lending, accounting, and/or general banking background with experience in customer relationship management and a working knowledge of deposit and loan products is preferred.  

Skills Required:

Strong analytical and decision making skills.

Strong organizational skills to maintain work in a fast paced environment.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and customer service.

Must demonstrate high level of initiative and ownership in completing tasks.  

Ability to retain and apply various policies/procedures/regulations.

Ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure.

Physical Demands/Conditions Required:

General Office/Bank Environment with hybrid remote and onsite schedule available

Equipment Used:

General office/bank equipment. Manuals/charts, loan software system, Fiserv, internet, Outlook, All Microsoft Office products.

Hours are 8am- 4:30pm- M-F
