ASSISTANT MANAGER
Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the General Manager with day to day operations along with crew member supervision. Thorough knowledge and execution of Customer Service, Product Quality, Safety, and Sanitation and Maintenance policies and procedures are crucial, as well as cash and people management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads team members in a fair and professional manner. Directs all daily operations of the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager including supervising & training employees, opening and closing the store, ensuring all food preparation is complete, managing employee breaks & shift changes.
- Assists General Manager in management operations and tasks including scheduling, ordering, product receiving, team development, inventory management, and daily checklists.
- Completes accurate daily and weekly inventory entry, review and reconciliation. Works with General Manager to identify inventory waste and opportunities for achieving ideal food cost metrics.
- Motivates and coaches team members and assists in the training of new team members. Encourages and reinforces all team members to complete corporate training courses in Marco’s University Online.
- Excels in performing all Crew Member tasks including makeline, cut table, monitoring the ovens, packaging of products, quality checks, order accuracy, and guest relations.
- Follows Marco’s procedures for preparing dough, sauce, and toppings, and correctly making all Marco’s products with a sense of urgency and accuracy in line with Marco’s product quality standards.
- Assists General Manager in recruiting and interviewing of Crew Members and Delivery Drivers.
- Reviews important store performance metrics, celebrates and/or realigns team on performance goals, and strives for top performance as Partner of Choice, Pizza of Choice and Employer of Choice.
- Reinforces and performs cash handling and register reconciliation tasks with accuracy and integrity.
- Assists General Manager with completing Operating System Evaluation (OSE) action plans and maintains OSE standards at all times within the operation. Maintains cleanliness of the store.
- Operates machinery in accordance with Marco’s safety requirements and applicable state & federal laws.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred: ability to pass a motor vehicle report showing safe driving history in line with Marco’s Delivery Driver Guidelines.
- ServSafe Manager certification
- Must complete certification course, pass exam, and furnish certification within 60 days of hire
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (10 hours) on any given day
- Need to be able to lift minimum 50 lbs
