Job Summary

St. Cletus School is seeking a faith-filled, enthusiastic, responsible, and caring individual to serve as an Aftercare Staff Member. This position is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for students in PK–8th grade after the regular school day.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children, demonstrate patience and good judgment, and support the mission and Catholic identity of St. Cletus School.

Hours

Monday–Friday, 2:55 p.m.–6:00 p.m. during the school year

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide active and attentive supervision of PK–8 students throughout the Aftercare program.
  • Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all students in the program.
  • Welcome students and help create a positive, nurturing, and enjoyable after-school environment.
  • Interact positively with students through conversation, games, crafts, outdoor play, and other age-appropriate activities.
  • Assist students with homework and encourage good study habits when needed.
  • Organize and participate in activities that are engaging and appropriate for a variety of ages.
  • Maintain an orderly and respectful environment consistent with St. Cletus School expectations and Catholic values.
  • Monitor student attendance and maintain accurate attendance records.
  • Ensure parent/guardian sign-out procedures are followed and records are completed accurately.
  • Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents/guardians during student pick-up.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures related to student safety, supervision, discipline, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized Aftercare space.
  • Work cooperatively with school faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students by demonstrating kindness, patience, respect, and responsibility.

Job Requirements

  • A genuine love for and interest in working with children.
  • Ability to supervise and engage students ranging from PK through 8th grade.
  • Dependable, responsible, and punctual.
  • Patient, energetic, and able to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating with school staff.
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic mission and values of St. Cletus School.
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to actively supervise children and participate in age-appropriate activities.
  • Ability to move throughout the school and outdoor areas as needed.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to student needs and emergency situations.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and orderly environment for students.
