Maintenance Technician - Electrical
Galloway Consolidated Holdings, Inc. Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician - Electrical is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance activities, including the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical control systems at the component level.
- Diagnose and maintain automated industrial machinery, including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, three-phase power systems, communication devices, and electronic controls.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot AC and DC drives.
- Perform PLC and electronic control system troubleshooting.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Install and troubleshoot basic three-phase motor control circuits.
- Maintain and repair air-operated and electric pump systems.
- Understand and troubleshoot various sensors, switches, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and parts lists.
- Maintain and repair power transmission systems, bearings, and related equipment.
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production and facility assets.
- Conduct equipment calibrations and verify operational performance.
- Install new equipment and implement modifications to existing machinery.
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment while also working independently when required.
- Assist in maintaining facility Food Safety standards and compliance requirements.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and operating procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Basic welding experience is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of three to five years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and control systems.
- Experience in the flexible packaging or blown film industries is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated work platforms.
- Availability to respond to on-call maintenance needs and occasional weekend work.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Basic computer proficiency.
