Material Handler - 1st Shift Welding

Material Handlers are responsible for physically loading and unloading parts and components to and from assembly lines and weld cells in order to feed the production process within the company. The department is structured as a formal team, and requires the ability to work within the team.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS HILO CERTIFICATION & THC DRUG TEST 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Physically load and unload parts to and from weld cell racks and assembly lines using a hi-lo, pallet jack, and manual labor
• Ensure containers are properly labeled
• Respond to visual signals from the production line, such as probe lights, and repair pallets or perform other activities, as necessary
• Place finished product in proper storage location 
• Work with production floor to ensure component inventory accuracy by correctly moving and loading source inventory
• Cycle Counting
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe
• Various other duties as required by the department

Skills

Ability to follow established procedures

Operate a Hi-Lo efficiently in a Manufacturing Environment

Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability 

Knowledge of IATF16949 quality standards and ISO14001

Prioritization skills sufficient to keep the shop floor running

Communication skills to communicate and interact with all levels of employees 

Computer literacy skills include the ability to perform basic data entry and to operate visual ‘touch screen’ display panels

Math skills sufficient to perform department related tasks are required

Ability to work effectively with people

Knowledge of scanners and scales 

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is Preferred.

Safety

Steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required. Other safety equipment required on an as needed basis.

Job requires very frequent visual effort and concentration, and the ability to move throughout the plant. The ability to lift 40 pounds is required. The work requires regular standing, moving about, and involves a variety of physical activities.
