Infrastructure Installation Technician

InfoWest | St. George, Utah | Full-Time

Build the connections that keep Southern Utah online

For more than 30 years, InfoWest has been bringing fast, reliable internet to communities across southern and central Utah and Overton, Nevada. Now backed by Boston Omaha Corporation (NYSE: BOC) and in the middle of a major fiber expansion, we're growing our team to keep pace with demand, and we want you on it.

As an Infrastructure Installation Technician, you'll be the hands-on expert who brings that connection to life: running fiber, aligning wireless antennas, and setting up the equipment that gets a home or business online. You'll also be the face of InfoWest in the field, often the first real person a customer meets from our company. If you like working with your hands, learning new technology, and ending the day knowing you fixed something real, this is the job.

Why you'll want to work here

  • 401(k) with employer match – we help you save for the future.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and life insurance – solid coverage for you and your family.
  • Company fleet vehicle – take it home each night, fuel included.
  • All tools and equipment provided – show up ready to work, no personal gear required.
  • Seven paid holidays a year, plus PTO that grows with your tenure and rolls over.
  • Paid sick days – take the time you need without losing pay.
  • Discounted internet for you, your family, and your friends.
  • A stable, family-oriented culture that actually means it when it says work-life balance.

What you'll be doing

  • Installing and terminating CAT5/CAT6 and fiber optic cable
  • Provisioning, installing, and aligning wireless internet antennas
  • Configuring and installing routers so customers are online and working right away
  • Talking with customers face-to-face, answering questions, and making sure every install ends with a good impression
  • Following OSHA and company safety protocols on every job

A day in the field (and sometimes in the office)

Most days you'll be outdoors, on ladders and rooftops (up to three stories), in whatever Southern Utah weather shows up, sun, wind, or snow. You'll meet customers in person and represent InfoWest well. On some days, you'll work in the office provisioning and upgrading equipment, learning the technical side of how our network runs behind the scenes.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

What you bring

  • Hands-on experience in construction, trades, or similar physical work; you're comfortable with tools and don't mind getting dirty
  • Basic understanding of networking, computers, and routers (we'll build on this with hands-on training)
  • Customer service experience; you're patient, clear, and professional with people
  • A knack for explaining technical things in plain language
  • A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug test
  • Bonus: familiarity with AC/DC wiring

Education: High school diploma or GED License: Valid driver's license required

Physical requirements

  • Comfortable working from ladders and rooftops
  • Able to carry ladders up to 35 feet
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs., and carry 50 lbs. for extended periods
